Enhancing Nature for People and Wildlife
Landscaping
Our proposals focus on revitalising and enhancing the site’s natural environment to benefit both residents and local wildlife.
We will retain mature trees wherever possible and introduce new native tree planting along the site boundaries. Overgrown vegetation will be carefully cleared to make way for new planting and ecological features—creating green spaces that are both functional and beautiful.

Delivering a Net Gain for Nature
By restoring and improving the landscape, the development will deliver at least a 10% net gain in biodiversity.
The revitalised site will provide a stronger connection to the outdoors, offering residents a peaceful, nature-rich environment and creating a welcoming habitat for wildlife.
Site Typology
The design responds carefully to the site’s setting and conditions. Homes are arranged to maximise natural sunlight, with careful attention to wind flow to create a sheltered, comfortable courtyard. The layout encourages a sociable but peaceful atmosphere, supported by planting and greenery that softens the space, enhances biodiversity and promotes wellbeing.

Did You Know?
Almshouses are affordable homes provided by charities, primarily for older people in need. Typically arranged around courtyards, they foster a strong sense of community and support independent living while offering companionship and assistance when needed. Research indicates that living in an almshouse can improve well-being and even extend life expectancy.

The courtyard design takes inspiration from traditional alehouses, creating a sociable and sheltered shared space. Image for illustrative purposes only; final designs may change.
